Evaluation report
CoBio has created an evaluation raport with contributions from all Co-Bio partners compiled and written by Center for Citizen Dialogue.
The Co-Bio Evaluation Report presents the results and impacts of the Co-Bio project (Co-creating Biodiversity in Urban Areas), an EU-funded initiative coordinated by the Municipality of Vejle. The project explored how co-creation methods can support urban biodiversity while strengthening citizen participation, learning, and collaboration across sectors.
Based on six local cases in Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Greece, Hungary and Italy, the evaluation applies a public value framework to assess both tangible and intangible outcomes. The report highlights impacts related to biodiversity and environmental quality, innovation and learning, social networks, democratic participation, and long-term economic potential.
In addition, the report reflects on Co-Bio as a co-creation process, identifying key learning points, challenges, and success factors. It concludes with concrete recommendations for practitioners and policymakers working with co-created biodiversity initiatives in urban contexts.
